Fair Luxury Announces Responsible Jewellery Exhibition

Fair Luxury Presents, the responsibly sourced jewellery selling exhibition, showcases for the first time at the Goldsmiths’ Centre during the London Design Festival (LDF). Casting a fresh light on what terms such as ethical luxury can mean, this exhibition tells a jewellery story from source to beautifully crafted object, championing makers for whom transparency and sustainability are as important as craftsmanship and design.

Fair Luxury, of which Levin Sources is a co-founder, is an agent of change, a ‘not-for-profit’ group of committed volunteers, where our aim is to create a platform for independent discussion and not a manifesto.

Members of the Levin Sources team helped with the selection of jewellers and the shaping of the content at the exhibition. We will be participating in the Private View evening on Tuesday 19th September 2017.

The selling exhibition is a unique opportunity to purchase and learn more about the story of a piece of jewellery from source to wearer – the materials, people, processes involved from the mine to beautifully crafted object.

A selection of photographs taken by Magnum Photos photographer Ian Berry will also be on show, tracing the journey of gold from Fairtrade mine sites visited in 2016 to the London based jewellery workshops.

Entry to Fair Luxury Presents is free, so whether you are looking to learn more about responsible sourcing, want to buy or commission a bespoke jewellery piece, or are looking to feast your eyes on beautifully crafted work – come and enjoy work by new and established makers who are redefining luxury.

On Tuesday 17th October, a special event will be held at the Goldsmiths' Centre. The event, focusing on responsible jewellery supply chains, will be most useful to jewellers, but open to all interested parties. Among a host of speakers from across ethical sourcing, our Responsible Sourcing and Development Specialist, Victoria Gronwald, will be speaking. Her presentation, entitled 'Ethical Choice in Jewellery Sourcing - What to consider and where to start', is sure to be engaging and followed by lively, jewellery-specific discussions. Tickets for this very special event are available here.
